Abstract

This paper aims to review the literature on municipal basic sanitation plans, covering recent information on the subject, especially those ones related to the guidelines of the National Policy and State Basic Sanitation, Federal Law No. 11,445/07 and State Law 13.517/07. Database and electronic libraries as LILACS, BIREME, Portal de Periódicos CAPES and SciELO, were consulted to form a scenario on the subject. In tracking, keywords as sanitation, municipal plans and wastewater, were decisive in the inclusion of material to be searched, as well as environmental legislation and technical adjustments.
