Abstract :
This work analyzes the performance of recently proposed analytical propagation models, a Method of Moments (MoM) technique and a finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method, in point-to-point and point-to-area signal estimation. These models, along with several traditional methods found in literature, were implemented in a software named PropTool. We investigate four cases operating at different frequency bands: two measurement campaigns (AM and FM broadcasting stations), the coverage area of a cellular telephone system and the atmospheric refraction effect on wave propagation.
