Abstract :
This paper proposes a novel parameter - CUR for the power converters feature description, which allows to describe the influence of their construction solutions on the quality of the communication in smart lighting systems with use of the narrowband power line communications technique. The CUR parameter is involved because the impedance of the power converter vs. frequency is inadequate parameter. In this paper LV network is treated as a transmission medium and the lanterns are treated as network terminals. Operating parameters of the LV network are calculated, inter alia, from secondary parameters of the power lines. For determining, the secondary parameters of the power line, its primary parameters must be known, the method of calculating them is also presented in this work. Some differences between power lines and wired, metal telecom lines are pointed out in this paper.
