Abstract
In this paper we present two approaches for designing a monitoring system for a manufacturing process of industrial glue in a corrugated board factory. A graphical model to generate fault indicators allowing checking detectability and localisability is used to considered process. These indicators are obtained by applying different steps of structural analysis. Firstly, a bipartite graph is used as the basic modeling theory whereas SIMATIC PCS7 software tool is used to simulate various faults and observe reactions of the designed supervision system. Secondly, SYMBOLS 2000 software tool based on bond graph model is introduced for performance evaluation.
