Abstract :
H.264/AVC is an international video coding standard, jointly developed by groups from ISO/IEC and ITU-T, which aims at achieving improved compression performance. Various applications of H.264/AVC includes conversational, storage, and streaming. It also includes many advanced H.264/AVC video decoders using such coding tools that provides improved coding efficiency for a very wide range of applications which includes video telephony, real-time videoconferencing (for low bit rate video codec), direct-broadcast television, blue-ray disc, digital video broadcast, running video etc. This paper recommends considering the decoder performance on different video quality measures along with their related algorithm mainly Context-based Adaptive Binary Arithmetic Coding (CABAC) and deblocking filter. The paper proposes the effect of deblocking filter on video quality as well as structural similarity index analysis.
