Abstract :
A novel UWB antenna with dual band reconfigurable characteristics using modified Koch fractal slot have been explored in this paper. The design shows impedance bandwidth from 2.5GHz to 12GHz with dual band reconfigurable characteristics at 5.5GHz and 8.1GHz utilizing two metallic switches in the modified Koch fractal slot. The peak gain of the antenna is found to be 9dBi. The group delay excursion shows that the proposed structure is non-dispersive in nature. Also the radiation pattern of the antenna is fairly stable with omnidirectional characteristics in H-plane as required for UWB communication.
