  • Abstract
    Renewable hybrid systems with small capacities are widely installed with an important role in demand side management and smart grid. Using hybrid system, renewable energy can be stored and used for power supply during peak load period. Switching control is more practical than power flow control in such small-scale systems. Switching control does not have high system requirements, but power flow control needs extra installation of expensive regulators and controllers. In this paper, a switching photovoltaic-battery hybrid system is studied based on A simple system structure. Optimal switching control model is proposed to sufficiently utilize the solar energy and to minimized electricity bills under the time-of-use program. As shown in results, optimal schedule of switching hybrid system can achieve promising cost savings.
