Abstract :
Drivers make use of the driving feel to obtain information about the road condition and vehicle performance. Driving feel which consists of steering feel and vibrant feel of seat, is a significant index to the evaluation of handling stability and driving comfort. The study of driving feel aids automotive experts to improve their design proposal. The application of virtual driving simulator abates the cost of test cars and it is unnecessary to go to the testing field conducting a variety of complex experiments. In this paper, the architecture of AVSoD system based on Unity and numerical simulation is proposed, the models of steering system and hang system, the control strategy of force feedback steering wheel and the control strategy of motion platform are considered. The realization of controlling hardware gives users the authentic feel of driving which can be used to assess and guide the modification of vehicle models.
