Abstract
The magnetization and coercivity of M-type strontium hexaferrite (SrFe12O19) platelets with diameters from 0.65 to 0.99 μm were measured at 300 K to investigate the intrinsic coercivity behavior near single domain size. The maximum intrinsic coercivity occurs at a platelet diameter of ~0.83 μm, which is close to the theoretical single domain size of 0.74 μm, while the magnetization slightly decreases as the platelet size increases. The size dependence of the intrinsic coercivity curve for SrFe12O19 platelets is presented below and above the single domain size.
