Abstract
The basis functions of the Walsh-Hadamard transform are real-valued whereas most signals in digital signal processing have in-phase and quadrature components. A Walsh-Hadamard power spectrum of a complex-valued sequence is defined, with the aim of obtaining a Fourier-like power spectrum using fewer computations. The new transform is illustrated with reference to satellite radar altimetry.
