Abstract
A novel phase noise cancellation method for optical frequency conversion using nearly degenerate four wave mixing in a semiconductor optical amplifier is proposed. A -44 dBm sensitivity at BER=10-9 is achieved for 155 MBit/s FSK transmission with 1750 GHz (14 nm) frequency conversion.
