  • Abstract
To assist underground nuclear test ban treaty verification specialists, we are developing technologies for automatically processing seismic monitoring data. The intelligent assistant described in this paper, called the Seismic Event Analyzer (SEA), isolates “interesting” events by filtering large volumes of continuously arriving data. It also uses an assumption-based truth maintenance system to emulate the human analyst´s problem-solving behavior
