Abstract :
The use of an all-fibre-format, high power, seeded erbium-doped fibre amplifier and fibre Raman converter is proposed and demonstrated for efficient pumping of Cr2+: ZnSe. 275 mW average power at 2.18 μm wavelength with high, 62%, slope efficiency is achieved
