Abstract :
A feedback control circuit that automatically sets the gain of an avalanche photodiode (APD) is presented. The circuit is implemented on a proprietary 3D programmable modular platform. The APD gain can be set to within 10% of the required gain up to a gain of 45. Results show a steady bias voltage independent of supply fluctuations and excellent repeatability
