  • Abstract
In the ageing of insulating materials by partial discharges, physical, chemical and electrical factors enter together into play. The paper aims to provide a general overview on the subject, especially for the physical and chemical phenomena, using information obtained from studies carried out with air corona discharges providing both glow and streamer effects on insulating materials
