Abstract :
The effect of repeater nonlinearities and noises on the transmission performance of a fiber optic VSB-FDM system for video trunking is analyzed. General design formulas are then given and used to derive a set of design requirements for fiber optic CATV systems. Finally, design results are presented for standard 5-, 12-, 21-, and 30channel CATV systems.
