Abstract :
In this paper, a new method of quasi-monochromatic light source bandwidth measurement is presented. It is based on the depolarization of partially coherent light in birefringent crystals. The described method has been applied for various types of light sources to illustrate its strengths and limitations. The results of bandwidth measurements for a quasi-monochromatic laser diode at different diode currents are also presented.
