Abstract
A microprocessor-based laboratory checking system has been designed and implemented. This system uses exhaustive testing to check student implementations of laboratory experiments in an introductory course in digital logic design. The use of the system results in faster and more thorough checking of laboratories, more consistent checking, and a reduced number of teaching assistants required to staff the laboratory portion of the course. The historical development of the course, a description of the operation of the checking system, and the results of several semesters of operation are presented.
