Abstract :
A method of analysis is presented which allows the evaluation and comparison of two-way voice radio and one-way tone-voice paging. Using several mathematical models to describe operational and economic characteristics, including a queuing model of message delay, an illustrative analysis is made with values of parameters obtained from an actual company. Results of this kind of analysis offer insight to radio users and policy makers.
