Abstract
The advent of the microprocessor has added a higher level of complexity for the electronics technician/technologist who is proficient in digital electronics. Associate degree electronics technician programs should develop and implement microcomputer system trouble-shooting courses. This short note develops the rationale for teaching microcomputer troubleshooting to the electronics technician/technologist, and describes in detail a microcomputer lecture/laboratory course which has been implemented at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
