Abstract
If ISP pool unused cache capacity, they are able to handle more traffic at lower prices. This article introduces the capacity provision networks (CPN) concept and explains why this model of cooperation is a good match for the emerging ISP connectivity paradigm. We also discuss the architectural and economic implications of CPN and examine some potential opportunities and challenges ahead.
