Wye-Delta and Delta-Wye Transformations: An Instructive Derivation

A simple derivation of both the wye-delta and delta-wye transformations is presented. This derivation stresses the concept of duality, illustrates the formulation and solution of node and loop matrix equations, and explains the role played by the wye-delta and delta-wye transfonnations in simplifying circuits.
