Abstract :
This article gives the history of the first 40 years of the International Symposia on Discharges and Electrical Insulation in Vacuum (ISDEIV). The author, who attended the first symposium held in Cambridge, US, in 1964, describes details of individual symposia and comments on the changes in the symposia.
