Comment, on "Surface studies on scandate cathodes and synthesized scandates" [with reply]

For original article by G. Lesny and R. Forman see ibid., vol.37, p.2595-605 (Dec. 1990). The commenter argues that some of the major conclusions in the above-titled paper cannot be understood from the data presented. To elucidate this statement, the emission data, the surface composition, and the model presented are considered. In their reply, Lesny and Forman clarify the motivation for their study and then answer the commenter´s objections in detail.<>
