Abstract
Linear feedback models for polarization and magnetization effects in dielectric and magnetic materials are introduced. They provide a direct translation of phenomena at the atomic level (e.g., electric dipoles and magnetic moments) into the traditionally used formulations of E (D) and H (B) fields in materials.
