Abstract
This paper describes a monolithic high-feature per-channel companded PCM coder/decoder (codec) and implications of the advanced architecture for fixed and variable time-slot applications. Technology tradeoffs are identified, and implementation of the critical analog circuit functions in
-channel MOS technology is discussed. These circuits include the first commercial embodiment of a novel buried-ion voltage reference.
