Abstract :
Fuel cells can be used to generate power from hydrogen. In contrast to other energy sources, hydrogen has the advantage of being easy to produce, and therefore has unlimited availability. The robot marks a step towards the future with regard to the automation of fuel cell production. The KUKA robots, with their accurate calibration, stand out for their excellent positioning capability and precise path characteristics, guaranteeing that the individual parts of the cell are assembled in exactly the right way. Errors which could render the cell useless are thus prevented from the outset. The robot works highly precisely, and maintains the sequence of processes. A major advantage of the robot over humans is that it checks its own work during the process and, whenever necessary automatically reacts to errors
