Abstract :
A novel hybrid amplifier with the largest reported seamless gain-bandwidth of 76 nm (1462-1538 nm) and a peak gain of 31.5 dB is described. The amplifier has a low noise figure, high output power, and a dispersion-compensation function at a signal rate of 10 Gbit/s with an 80 km single mode fibre, over the entire gain bandwidth
