Abstract :
A 5.2 mm long monolithic colliding-pulse-modelocked quantum well laser diode is fabricated, which generates 6.4 ps optical pulses at a repetition rate of 15.8 GHz: penalty-free 15.8 Gbit/s transmission demonstrates its potential for ultrahigh-speed optical-time-division-multiplexing and soliton systems
