Abstract :
The closed-loop characteristic polynomial is applied to design and co-ordinate multiple stabilisers to enhance power system damping. The proposed solution indirectly takes into account different operating conditions to design robust stabilisers based on local measurements. The effectiveness of the procedure is demonstrated through digital simulations on a three-machine power system including a TCSC and a UPFC. Results illustrate that the designed stabilisers contribute significantly to improve the power system dynamic behaviour over different loading conditions
