Abstract :
Discusses the evolutionary development of the PowerPC processor architecture, jointly developed by Apple, Motorola and IBM. Rooted in workstation technology, the PowerPC architecture is both the oldest and the newest of the RISC implementations. The architecture, that is, an overall plan for making chips with different kinds of features while maintaining a high degree of compatibility among them originated with IBM
