Abstract
A rotor field-oriented control (RFOC) scheme, employing only two current sensors, is presented in this paper for a dual-three-phase induction-machine drive. The induction machine has two sets of stator three-phase windings spatially shifted by 30 electrical degrees. The reduction of the current sensor count, which is possible due to the particular machine structure, does not affect significantly the performance of the vector-control scheme. Experimental results are presented for a 10-kW RFOC dual-three-phase induction-motor-drive prototype to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed solutions
