Abstract :
Garnets for magneto-optical deiivices require impro:)ved magneto-optical figure of merit, namely, decr reased optical absorption loss and increased magneto-optical effect. This article evaltuates the optical properties of a Co-substituted LPE magnetic garnet film grown for the purpose of increasing magneto-optical effect in the 1.5μm band where optical absorption loss of optical fiber becomes minimum
