Abstract :
A new kind of high bandwidth efficiency hybrid ARQ: multilevel HARQ, is proposed. Simulations on the performance of schemes with and without packet combining were carried out. Numerical results have shown that throughput of multilevel HARQ can outperform trellis coded HARQ by about 1.5-2 dB with a lower complexity.
