Abstract :
A new control system for the control of rotating magnetic islands in the JET plasma is described. The flexibility required of the controller because of uncertainty and variability of the plasma model have imposed a digital implementation. To obtain the fast response required by the dynamic modes, the controller is composed of a set of six DSPs working in parallel. Furthermore the controller is interfaced to other diagnostics systems in order to be able to adapt its action to different plasma conditions in real time
