Abstract :
Saccharin was added during preparation of Permalloy sample by electrodeposition in an attempt to reduce mechanical strain and improve the magnetic properties. For a constant film thickness T, the internal stress tended to decrease as saccharin was added to the plating bath. Dependences of coercive force Hc and squareness ratio Br/Bm on T and the amount of saccharin added were also found. The minimum Hc was obtained for a film thickness of 2 ¿m, regardless of whether saccharin was added; the addition of saccharin also had little effect on the squareness ratio.
