Abstract
Vortex-shaped gliding arc plasma (VGAP) reactor is improved adding the proper amount of CH4 and optimizing reactor structure. After improvement, the arc structure of VGAP is clearly distinguished to arc core and arc sheath. The improved VGAP can provide a new way for solid hazardous waste treatment and material modification to some extent, on the basis of its good effects and lower energy cost in comparison with the thermal plasma.
