Abstract
Application of a noncontact displacement sensor, consisting of a small magnet and amorphous dual-core magnetometer and featuring excellent linearity, to a mechanocardiograph (heart displacement sensor) is described. Detection signals showed linear dependence on magnet displacement (nonlinearity ≪ 1%) for displacements up to 6 mm. The minimum detection resolution was 1 ¿m, enabling detection of human heart displacement, which ranges from a few to several tens of ¿m. Cardiac displacement distributions can be obtained, for more complete diagnostics than are possible with electroor magnetocardiographs.
