Abstract
In order to widen the band gap of AII 1-xMn xBVI alloys and effectively use laser diodes that work at short wavelengths for Faraday rotation, we have studied ternary ZnMnTe films whose parent materials are ZnTe and MnTe compounds of wider gap. This paper reports the crystallographic and magnetooptical characteristics of ZnTe-based magnetic semiconductor films grown epitaxially on C-cut sapphire substrates or deposited on quartz glass substrates
