Abstract
Flexible amorphous metal fibers were woven with copper wire to form inductor, which were smaller and had a higher inductance than conventional toroidal magnetic cores. The amorphous wire, commercially available, was 107 ¿m in diameter, with a zero-magnetostriction composition; the copper wire had a 140 ¿m diameter. One such element had an inductance of 3 ¿H/mm3. The inductance frequency characteristic was flat, and by changing the construction of the element, the frequency at which the Q-factor is maximum may be varied.
