Abstract :
This paper presents a new class of self-calibration procedures for the error-correction of network analyzer measurements. The ZU, YU, ZUU, and the YUU self-calibration procedures only need one known and one or two unknown impedances for the calibration process. The ZY, ZYU, ZZU, and YYU calibration techniques provide calibration measurements with two impedance standards with known resistances and unknown reactances. The very good performance of the ZZU impedance calibration procedure is demonstrated by experimental results up to 20 GHz. Measurements of series resistors verify this new calibration procedure and the measurements of capacitors connected to ground in two different mounting styles show the efficiency of the impedance calibration procedures
