Abstract
To throw light on the factors influencing the coercivity of Nd-Fe-B system magnets, the authors studied the effect of annealing on the material coercive force. Sintering at l00°C and aging at 6OO-650°C and at 900°C were found to increase the coercivity greatly; this was thought to arise from formation of minute Nd2 Fe14 B crystals upon sintering, and partial elimination of lattice defects at grain surfaces and within grains upon aging.
