  • Abstract
Previous analyses based on energy considerations of the magnetization distribution in the curling region of a single-layer magnetic film are extended to the case for a double-layer film with magnetostatic coupling. The dependence of total magneto- static energy on gap a uniform both length G assuming magnetization distribution and a curling state were compared. From this, the magnetization distribution (initial angle and curling length) as a function of 2¿M2/K (K: anisotropic energy constant) and G were determined. By including the Zeeman energy due to the leakage field from the recording medium, this method may be extended to magnetization distribution in head tips during read processes.
