Abstract
A current-carrying synthetic antiferromagnet (SAF) structure, which consists of two ferromagnetic layers antiferromagnetically coupled to one another through an exchange coupling layer, is being studied. Using typical values of an Ni80Fe20 SAF structure and aided by numerical calculation, we predict that its effective susceptibility can be varied by current. The maximum change in susceptibility and the corresponding critical current are expressed in analytical forms. An electrically tunable thin-film magnetic core can find wide applications in magnetic sensors and tunable magnetic components
