Abstract :
The authors used simulations to study the possibility of employing ribbons of high-coercivity film, separated by an isolation layer from magnetic bubble material, to generate magnetostatic potential wells facilitating the stable propagation of vertical Bloch line (VBL) pairs. The stray field generated by surface charge at domain walls was taken into account in determining the isolation layer thickness and coercivity of the high-coercivity film, resulting in a potential well amplitude enabling stable propagation. Simulations indicated that stable propagation is indeed possible by this method.
