Abstract
An Mn-Zn ferrite (111) surface oriented film was fabricated on an amorphous Mn-Zn ferrite (a-MZ) layer as a backing layer for a Ba-ferrite media to investigate the problem of diffusion of Zn ions from the the ZnO layer to the Mn-Zn ferrite layer. X-ray diffraction revealed that the experiment samples had almost perfect (111) surface orientation and that this degree of orientation is strongly dependent on the foundation a-MZ layer film thickness ¿a , with ¿a ¿ 100 Ã
giving the most favorable orientation.
