Abstract
Metal film was electroplated onto fine nonmagnetic wire while the latter was twisted to different angles, and then the wire was released and another film electroplated, to induce a permanent shear stress in the first layer. When symmetric and asymmetric exciting magnetic fields were applied, voltage pulses were observed to increase monotonically for symmetric driving, but an anomalous increase in positive output voltage was observed for asymmetric driving, probably due to a uniaxial anisotropy induced by the built-in shear stress.
