Abstract :
The effect of heat treatment on the magnetostriction constants and film stress of CoZr and CoZrTa films was studied. Heat treatment decreased positive magnetostriction constants, while increasing negative magnetostriction constants. Also it was learned that heat treatment converts the compression stress of sputtering into tensile stress. The authors attribute magnetic structural changes to magnetic elastic energy and point out that the magnetostriction constants and film stress are as important in these films as they are in Permalloy films.
