Abstract
The stochastic finite element method designed to deal with indeterminate elements in actual magnetic materials was studied. Permeability is considered as a variable in a homogeneous two-dimensional spatial stochastic process, and the analysis results are compared with those of the usual determinate finite-element method. Both methods produced identical results over a wide range. But the advantage of the probabilistic approach is that the variance can be evaluated directly without performing recursion.
