Abstract
The relation between the width of the common magnetic circuits in a four-pole parametric induction motor and the motor´s characteristics was studied. It was found that the smaller the width of the common magnetic circuits the better the motor characteristics are. This seems to be due to the fact that the oscillation stability increases and the effective flux to the rotor increases as the common magnetic circuit width decreases.
